Accountability is key!
After speaking with numerous economic development and non-profit leaders over the years we have found that when strong accountability mechanisms are built into a strategic plan - that plan gets used. Accountability runs both ways in these instances. Leaders and board members commit to engaging in the process and guiding the team through implementation with an emphasis on impact and outcomes. At the same time individual team members take ownership of their responsibility in the implementation process. Finally, community groups, governing bodies, and other civic and political leaders take their responsibility to hold organizations accountable seriously by interacting with the work, scrutinizing progress, and being flexible when pivots are necessary.

COMMUNICATION
Accountability is built into every Strategy Sprint work plan. We dedicate a section to Communication that eliminates ambiguity. This means clearly establishing the metrics of success, the data collection methods, the internal and external stakeholders who require progress updates, and the format (e.g., dashboards, reports) through which that information will be shared.
SCHEDULED CHECK-INS
To ensure momentum and accountability, every Strategy Sprint includes two dedicated check-ins with HatchForm staff. These sessions are designed to systematically review sprint materials and immediately address any items in the work plan that have stalled or encountered delays. They provide a confidential, safe environment to openly discuss implementation challenges and collaboratively devise tactical solutions
COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE
